Create a New Theme
Code Accessibility Fixes are automated fixes to your website's code that will not affect your site's appearance. In this article, we will go over how you can deploy the Code Accessibility Fixes within a matter of minutes.
To get started, navigate to the Code Accessibility Fixes subsection of the Pending Actions section of your Patrol Dashboard. This subsection will display how many files need to have accessibility issues fixed, and the number of elements impacted by those issues.
Next, click the Review and Deploy button in the Code Accessibility Fixes subsection.
You will now be prompted to Prepare a Release Theme. This action will clone your current live Shopify theme and apply accessibility fixes to the new theme. Click Create Release Theme to generate this new theme. Patrol will then begin to generate and deploy the new theme.
If you already have the maximum number of themes in your Shopify account, you will be prompted to delete an existing theme. We recommend deleting the oldest theme in your repository. It is also important to never delete the Patrol theme with Do Not Delete in the title.
If you are a developer, you can reference the Push to Github article to learn about how to deploy the fixes via your GitHub repository.
Once the new theme is successfully created, you can click the View Release Theme in Shopify Admin button to bring you to the newly created theme within your Shopify store.
